Your Good House Keeping Security Deposit – Payment Card Pre-authorisation

What is a pre-authorisation?

A Pre-authorisation is a Temporary hold of a specific amount of money against the available balance on a credit or debit card. The pre-authorisation does not take funds from your account, instead it reserves them, in case a payment is needed to be taken.

Why do you need a pre-authorsation?

The pre-authorisation forms your good housekeeping security deposit. By taking a pre-authorisation that ensures that funds are available to pay for any breakages or additional cleaning charges incurred during your stay.

Can I choose the card that I use for the pre-authorisation?

Yes. When you pay your final balance you can either choose to automatically use the same payment card for your good housekeeping security deposit or to contact us with another payment card ahead of your stay.

The access codes for entry to the property cannot be sent until your pre-authorisation is registered.

When will the pre-authorisation be released?

Once your stay is complete and we receive confirmation from our housekeeper that all is well at your holiday home we will cancel the pre-authorisation and send you a confirmation email to let you know that that has been done.

This is usually done the next working day after the end of your stay.

When accidents happen

We understand that sometimes accidents happen. Should you accidentally break anything please let us know immediately – if it’s minor, like a glass or a cup, we usually won’t charge & it’s really helpful to us to know so we can organise a replacement for your stay and have full inventory ready before the next guests arrive.

If it’s a larger issue (e.g. the TV screen, a window or furniture etc) we would like to agree on the cost with you before you leave to avoid any issues later on.
